summer 2008

Here is all that has happened since our last update. We lived at belmont for the summer. Doug took his last two classes and graduated from BYU!!!!! yay! I also took two classes during the summer.(Stats and Intermediate sewing) Shannon moved in with us and she was a big help babysitting Josh while Doug and I were in class. Thanks Shannon! Josh started walking. He also had his first birthday. He is so big. Summer came and went. Between semesters we visited the fam in Washington. Now we are back in Provo at yet another apartment. We live over by the hospital in Westwood. I really like this area of town. We have lots of room (3 bed and 2 bath) like belmont, just not quite as new and spiffy. I am taking a full load of classes (sewing, human development, floral design, interior plants and landscapes, new testament, and textiles). Doug watches Josh in the morning while I am at class and goes to work when I get back. We live right across from some really nice neighbors. They have a son a couple months older than Josh, (James) and they like to play together. That makes it so nice for Josh to have such a close playmate. Josh is getting so smart. He can climb up onto a chair and get onto the kitchen table. He loves to give kisses. He is very friendly and goes to just about anyone. He likes to go right up to people and bend in toward them and say hi. Anywhere he sees children he heads straight toward them to go and play. We have a park just two blocks away from our apartment and Josh loves to go play there. Daddy takes him there a lot of mornings while I am at class. Either Josh doesn't understand the word no yet or he just totally ignores Doug and I. He can get into lots of mischief. He is very cute though. He justs points his finger at me and says no right back and gets a big grin on his face and goes right on doing what he was doing and sometimes I can't help but laugh. Well I guess that sums up our summer. Here are some pictures for real this time.

whew, here comes a long overdue update. lots has happened since december. joshie has learned to crawl, kneel, pull himself up, and walk holding on to things. sometimes he stands on his own but only for a few seconds. He eats lots more foods, some of his favorites being strawberries, bananas, baked beans, mac and cheese, yogurt, bread, and juice. as long as he can make a big mess he's happy. we moved from yakima to provo in the beginning of february. our first apartment was a scary experience. It was a studio in an old building with very thin walls. we had to call the cops many times on our neighbors. the first tenants got into a big drunken fight and got kicked out. the next tenants spent time in jail for abuse and also got kicked out. fun fun. we are in a much nicer apartment now with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. we get really good rates for spring and summer since we are in student housing, but we have to move again before fall semester. we are sooooo excited for shannon to come and live with us after she graduates!!!!! Doug is working at a place called media learner where they do internet marketing and help people start businesses online. He thinks this job is really interesting and is learning a lot about websites and the internet. He is also taking a class at byu on mon, wed, and fri. It is one of two classes he has left until he graduates. he will take the other in summer semester and then graduation!!!. whoo hoo!!! I will also be taking some classes in the summer. as for me i am home most days with joshie. we are still unpacking things and getting settled. mommy is very very happy because this place has a dishwasher and washer and dryer in the unit! score. and it has a nice pool, hot tub, small exercise room, and piano. well here are the pics of what we have been up to since our last entry. enjoy.
